Gangotri – A Dream Destination of Every Trekker!

Places for camping are Cheedvasa and Bhojvasa which are just 25 kms from Gangotri. Yes, here you can enjoy camping and trekking. Enthusiasts can visit nandavan, a superb place for trekking. But make sure to do dashans of gangotri temple. It’s a belief that visiting here purifies the soul and brings oneself closer to the divine.
Apart from Gangotri temple yatra and other trekking sites, there are many other places to visit near Gangotri temple like Bhagirath Shila and Pandava Gufa. Bhagirath Shila is believed to be the divine rock where king Bhagirath used to pray Lord Shiva and Pandava Gufa is a place where Pandavas are believed to have meditated and rested here. To reach here, one has to go by trek.
In nutshell, Gangotri is a divine place interms of holiness and a fabulous place for trekking and camping. Pilgrims generally make Uttarkashi as their base camp.
