Approx. 2000 years ago this religion is divided into two major colleges i.e. Mahayana Buddhism and The Theravada Buddhism. The first school has been further mentioned into Pure Land and Zen. The Theravada Buddhism is appreciated in Thailand, Sri Lanka and Burma whereas Mahayana Buddhism was dominant in Tiver, Korea, Nepal and Taiwan. In the present time another type if Buddhism called Tendai has also gained huge popularity among the followers of all over the world.
