Gangotri is the abode of goddess Ganga which is positioned in the splendid Himalaya region which is the actual origin point of this river. Same as the Yamunotri dham is dedicated to goddess Yamuna. The place Gangotri is highly renowned for its highly dense and green alpine forest that are sprinkled with green valley whereas Yamunotri is highly renowned for its resplendent and rich scenic beauty of snow covered peaks.
