Chardham Yatra
Char Dham, which means “the four seats/abodes” are the names given to four of the most important pilgrimage sites in India. These four sites are being widely respected by the Hindus. The “Char Dham” consists of Dwarka, Badrinath, Rameswaram, and Puri. Among the Hindus, there is a belief that is highly sacred to visit these four places once in a lifetime. The Adi Shankaracharya has defined Char Dham as one of the most important pilgrimages for the Hindus.

Here is a brief account on four different sites of the CharDham Yatra From Delhi.

Puri: Puri is one of the most important pilgrimage sites for the Hindus and is located along the coast of Bay of Bengal in the state of Orissa. It is considered to be as one of the oldest cities in the entire Eastern India. Puri famous for the Jagannath Temple. Lord Jagannath is believed to as an Avatar of Lord Vishnu . The Jagannath Temple of Puri is more than 1000 years old and consists some of the most exquisite handmade architectural designs. Every year, thousands from all over India visits Puri. The Bay of Bengal is another major attraction of this place

Dwarka: Located in the state of Gujarat, in Western India. It is located at a point where the Gomti River meets the Arabian Sea. This is considered to be as one of the most important pilgrimage sites for the Hindus because Dwarka is believed to be the City of Lord Krishna, who is another Avatar of Lord Vishnu. It is believed that the original city of Dwarka was destroyed by the sea and this is the 7th city which has been built in this area.

Badrinath: Badrinath is located in the state of Uttarakhand, on the lap of the Himalayas. Surrounded by heavenly beauty, Badrinath is another very important pilgrimage site for the Hindus. The Temple of Badrinath is located in this place; Badrinath is considered to be as another Avatar of Lord Vishnu.

Rameswaram: Rameswaram is located in South India in the state of Tamil Nadu. It is located on the Gulf of Mannar, right at the tip of Indian Peninsula. This is the place where Lord Rama was believed to have built the famous “Ram Setu”, across the Indian Ocean up to Srilanka
