Gangotri Temple lies at an altitude of 3200 meters above sea level in Uttarkashi district, on the banks of Bhagirathi river. It is the starting point of Ganga where the pilgrims worship godeess Ganga. Gangotri temple opens for devotees on the pious day of Akshay Tritiya which falls on fifth month of the year and closes in November. Tourists can find few hotels and ashrams for accommodation o the other side of Gangotri Temple.
Badrinath Dham - In 9th century, Badrinath Temple was established by Adi Shankaracharaya in the form of cone at an elevation of 3,415 meters above sea level.  It is the most holy shrine and holiest point for all pilgrimages that is located in the hills of Himalaya. Badrinath is one of the famous shrines and a sacred place that is situated in Garhwal Hills on the banks of Alaknanda River. 
Kedarnath Dham is located at a distance of 223 km from Rishikesh in Uttarakhand and close to the source of Mandakini river at an elevation of 3,583 meters above sea level. This shrine is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord shiva and is surrounded by snow-capped mountain peaks. You can find several kunds here such as Gauri Kund, Hans Kund, Udhak Kund, Rudhir Kund and more.
